If a transaction does not proceed — for example if a seller withdraws the listing or a dispute is resolved in the buyer's favour — the purchase amount held in the vault is returned to the buyer in full.
Refunds of the purchase amount are processed within 3-5 business days back to the original payment method.
The vault fee covers the administration of setting up, managing and securing the transaction. Vault fees are non-refundable once a transaction has been initiated, as the service has been provided regardless of whether the sale completes.
Exception: If a transaction cannot proceed due to a verified fault on Deposit Guardian's part, we will review vault fee refund requests on a case by case basis. Contact us at support@depositguardian.com
If a buyer raises a valid dispute before the inspection period expires — supported by documented evidence such as an independent mechanic's report — funds may be held while the dispute is investigated. If the dispute is resolved in the buyer's favour the purchase amount is returned.
Deposit Guardian acts as a neutral facilitator in disputes and does not take sides. Our role is to ensure the process is followed correctly by both parties.
To request a refund or raise a dispute, contact us at support@depositguardian.com with your transaction reference number, a description of the issue and any supporting evidence.
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 2 business days.
