Is this really Deposit Guardian?

Scammers can impersonate trusted businesses too. Your safest place to check a message or payment request is inside your authenticated Deposit Guardian account — important financial instructions should appear there, connected to your transaction, not in a standalone email or text.

Deposit Guardian will NEVER ask you to:

  • Move your money to a "safe account"
  • Buy gift cards
  • Send cryptocurrency to protect your funds
  • Give us your password or one-time security code
  • Install remote-access software
  • Send money to a different bank account because of a supposed "security problem"

If someone contacts you claiming to be Deposit Guardian and asks you to do any of these things, stop. Open Deposit Guardian directly using your normal login and contact us through your account.

Know the warning signs

Scams are changing all the time. The stories are different. The tricks are often the same.

Bank impersonation

“Your account has been compromised. Move your money to this safe account.”

Tech support

“Your computer has a virus. Give us remote access and pay us to fix it.”

Family emergency

“It's me. I'm in trouble and need money right now. Please don't tell anyone.”

Government or tax impersonation

“You owe money. Pay immediately or you will be arrested, fined or disconnected.”

Romance scam

“I love you, but I need money for an emergency, travel, medical costs or another crisis.”

Investment scam

“I can show you how to make guaranteed or huge returns. Send money to get started.”

Fake invoice or business payment

“Our bank details have changed. Please send the payment to this new account.”

Marketplace purchase scam

“Send a deposit now or someone else will buy it.”

Gift-card scam

“Buy these gift cards and send me the numbers to make the payment.”

Overpayment scam

“I'll pay you extra. Refund the difference using a different payment method.”
