Refund Policy - Deposit Guardian

Deposit Guardian: Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. When You Can Request a Refund

You are eligible to request a full refund of your Purchase Funds (the money held for the asset) under the following conditions:

Pre-Inspection:

If the transaction is cancelled before a mechanical inspection has been performed.

Failed Inspection:

If the Physical Guard (75-point check) reveals the machine is not as described or is mechanically unsound, and you choose not to proceed.

Scam Detection:

If Deposit Guardian identifies the listing as fraudulent or the Seller as a "ghost" account.

2. The "Point of No Return"

Once the Buyer clicks "Release Funds" in the Deposit Guardian dashboard, the transaction is considered complete. At this point, funds are disbursed to the Seller and no refunds can be issued by Deposit Guardian.

3. Handling of Service Fees

To remain fair to all parties, our fees are handled as follows:

Digital Scan Fees ($39):

Non-refundable once the PPSR/Data report is delivered.

Mechanical Inspection Fees:

Non-refundable once the mechanic has attended the site. If you cancel 24+ hours before the appointment, this fee is fully refundable.

Vault Service Fees ($299–$999):

If a deal falls through due to a Seller’s misrepresentation or fraud, this fee is fully refunded. If you cancel a legitimate deal for personal reasons, a $150 administration fee may be retained.

Payment Surcharges:

Credit card/merchant fees are non-refundable as they are retained by the banking network. (We recommend PayID to avoid these costs).

4. Refunds Initiated by Deposit Guardian

We reserve the right to trigger an automatic refund to a Buyer if:

  • The transaction is found to be fraudulent or suspicious.
  • A duplicate payment was made in error.
  • We are legally required to do so by Australian authorities or our payment partner, Airwallex.

5. Dispute Resolution & Chargebacks

By using this service, you agree to use our internal Dispute Resolution Process before contacting your bank.

Initiating a chargeback without first attempting resolution through Deposit Guardian may lead to account suspension.

Double recovery (receiving both a chargeback and a refund) is strictly prohibited.
